  • UConn Stands Out For Georgia Sophomore

    Joey Natale

6-foot-4, 190 pound Ahmed Hill isn't quite yet a household name on the east coast, but in a few months, things will be different. The sophomore combo guard of the Southern Stampede has a smooth pull-up jumper with a powerful drive to the basket. For the next level, Ahmed is working on his footwork and ball-handling abilities. Hill is a big guard that tries to emulate his game to another big guard Russell Westbrook.

Now that it's AAU season and college coaches are getting ready to call him, Hill's recruitment is starting to heat up. The talented guard has Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, UConn, Florida, Ole Miss, Murray State, Mercer, Georgia Southern and VCU as the schools looking at him. He already holds offers from UConn, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and VCU. He has already taken trips to Clemson and Georgia.

So far, the school that is standing out for him is UConn. "I love the way they play and they have great guard history with a great coaching staff." said Hill on his thoughts of the UConn program.

Ahmed wants to play college basketball at a program that he can come in and be a threat to opponents with a good coaching staff and teammates that give him the chance to show off what he can do.

In his free time, like most other teenagers, Ahmed enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing basketball and sleeping. He also loves listening to Wiz Khalifa and eating hot wings. Most people don't know that he's a "neat freak" and a "mommas boy".

We will be following Ahmed as he progresses throughout his high school career. So keep it here with UConnBall.

I think so. Unless the staff feels strongly about the current front court. Hopefully we can get XRM, and then maybe Woodson will follow.

That's what I'm a bit confused by. If the staff wants a big center, who are we recruiting (other than Woodson) that fits the description? Are all of our

In my opinion, they need more than one center.

They arent really recruiting Akoy Agau anymore, especially with Kentan Facey committing. Reggie Cameron is barely a 4-man, I'd say ultimately he's a step

I thought the whole deal with Agau was that we had really backed off? He was quoted recently as saying that we hadn't contacted him in awhile and therefore

From what I've seen, we have no offensive line, no passing game, and an inconsistent run game. Overall, the defense was good.
